EVERGREEN

THUJA: CEDAR

Flat aromatic sprays of soft green leaves and small brown cones are the distinguishing features of the cedar.  They come in either a globe or pyramidal form.  Globe forms are excellent for foundation plantings, while the pyramidal forms are used for specimens, windbreaks and hedges. Cedars do the best in partial shade where they are protected from direct exposure to wind & sunlight.  They prefer a moist & humid site. Extra watering is required during dry spells and abundant water should be applied to the roots before freeze-up.  Mulching the soil helps to conserve moisture.
