EVERGREEN

JUNIPERUS: JUNIPER

Junipers are well known for their aromatic, scale- like foliage and attractive bluish-green, berry-like cones. They come in many different  shapes, sizes & colors - everything from upright pyramidal to low spreading ground covers to the  semi-upright forms. Colors range in shades from green and blue to gold.    Junipers are an excellent  evergreen for northern gardens as most do not require winter protection in order to prevent browning.  Although they  will grow  in dry sites,  Junipers prefer  moist, well-drained soils.  In general, Junipers are a sun loving plant, but many shade-tolerant varieties are also available.
